I'm not too positive what could be happening with everything else, but it does seem that TWC's DNS settings weren't working at all, while Google's were fine for a bit.
So I just enter them in, but keep it set on auto?

If you enter them manually, it will take you off auto. What you are doing is telling your computer to send names to those particular DNS servers for translation.

Ahhh. So the first one entered in is like the default one to go to, and if that one doesn't work it moves on down the list until it finds one that works?

This is a newb question. But what do those 4 numbers mean anyway?

Exactly...The thing is, you normally just leave it on auto and let it do it's thing.

Let me ask a few more questions, because this problem is starting to bug me...

Who was your ISP before TWC?
What brand and model modem/router are you using?

After going over your first screenshots, I'm wondering if it actually has to do with the DNS servers. You have been unable to open any websites?

Try this:
Open your browser and enter this into the address bar: 67.220.212.115
Does it open up to OCN?

Rich

Edit: Those 4 numbers are an IP address. Everything connected to the Internet has one. What a DNS server does is translate the name you type into the address bar to an IP address.

For example, you could put "overclock.net" into you address bar and hit enter. The computer first looks within itself to see if it can resolve the name. If not, it sends the name to a DNS server which translates it to "67.220.212.115" and sends that information back to you, which then redirects your browser to OCN.

My ISP before TWC was Verizon FiOS
The Brand/Model I'm using now is a Netgear Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller that they provided me with

I've been able to open every website, but sometimes it won't open at all and comes up with those error messages you see. Mostly the one in the 5th screenshot.

So I just entered in that IP address and it opened OCN up. But everything is working fine right now, so I wonder if it would do the same if things became screwy again. Which would still be tough to judge because sometimes when it becomes screwy its only screwy for a couple of attempts, other times it goes for a good ten minutes before I end up getting frustrated and unplugging/replugging in the modem/router.

Edit: hahah just saw your edit. That seems pretty straightforward, I'm just struggling with grasping the concept of it hahahah. Thank you though!

This is your router/modem or your NIC card?

Do you still have your DNS set to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 or did you set it back to automatically acquire them?
If the problem comes and goes, it might just be issues with the DNS server you are using. The next time it happens, try typing IP's into the address bar and see if it works. If so, I would think it's a outside system error rather than anything you can fix. If so, there are a few things we can try then.

I just copied what it said in this screenshot so I don't know if its the model or the NIC hahahaha:

And I had set it back to auto about 2 hours ago when I saw that setting it to 8.8.8.8 wasn't working.

I hope it just continues to work from here on out, but if it doesn't I'll try and be fast enough to type in an IP address into the address bar.

Yeah, that's your network card in your computer.

What I was wondering about is the actual piece of equipment that they brought you when you hooked up your service. I would imagine it's one of the Motorola Surfboards, which are pretty much the standard.

I guess for now just keep your fingers crossed. If it acts up again, post back here or shoot me a PM and I'll do what I can to help.

OK. So I've noticed something. The times when my internet acts up the most.

1. When I've just booted up my computer and try and get into the internet.
2. When I've awakened my computer from sleep mode.

When at this point it goes through phases.

1. The website won't load at all
2. The website will begin to load but only with a very rudimentary looking form and missing many aspects of the webpage
3. The website will still look rudimentary but then eventually get more aspects back
4. The website no longer looks rudimentary but still is missing elements and is taking forever to load.
5. Everything that is supposed to be on the webpage is finally showing up but it takes forever to load
6. The website begins to load as it should.

Each step takes multiple attempts at loading the page before it changes to the next step, and overall the process can take up to 10 minutes to finally become fully operational.

Any ideas? Feel free to ask questions on that. I feel as though I may not have explained it very clearly.
