So I'm going to be modding around the front panel wires and connectors for sleeved ones, but I can't figure out how to get the damn top part off.

Oh it's the nVidia Edition btdubbss.

There are 6 clip under the side. You need to remove both side panel and the front panel.

1. Remove sidep panels,

2. Remove front panel but pulling from the bottom out. Use force!

3. The top panel has 6 clips on the side under the rail or the metal cage. You need to put your fingers under on the side and push the clip side by side off.

It's a hard job to pull it out, they are very tight you need more strengh to do it.

*my instruction sounds kinky* D=

Hmm does sound hard to get it out XD

I'm worried about the top panel and the 6 clips on the side under the rail/metal cage. if you had a picture or vid it'd clear it up but I guess I will find it.

Here ya go! =) took my extra CM 690 II Advanced top and snapped some pictures for ya, as you can tell the big plastic tabs clip into the metal frame. There is 3 on each side of the top. As far as taking the mesh off ( you have to, to get to the filter ) you need to bend the little mesh tabs straight and slide it through the holes they come through. Its very difficult but with some trial and error you should get it off, just be careful on how you handle the mesh as it is VERY easily bendable and last thing you want is a bent top panel =)

No problem! Glad it was of some help, i wouldn't worry about the clips, there pretty beefy plastic and in case something does break, CoolerMasters customer service is really excellent!

Best of luck!
George
