I'll definitely look at the corsair ones, and I love ripjaws, just personal choice i guess! thanks for the help

good psu?
OC'ing on a stock cooler may lead to burn your processor,
better you pick a decent after market cooler.
Get a corsair tx650 m/tx650 v2.

You can get an i5-2500K plus a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 or ASUS P8Z68-V LGA for around the same price as that combo price. For that you get the backup graphics if your card fails and some extra goodies like Intel's SRT, LucidLogic Virtu and more!

I'd go with an Antec Truepower New 650W, it's semi modular (My setup didn't need the extra cables ) And is a bit better than the Corsair.

Oh and just for kicks:

OP already has the graphics card.

I'm not sure how graphics intensive the applications your dad is running are, but I'd look to sell that graphics card and get one with a bit more memory (2gb). 2GB 6950s are similar priced to the 560 (new).

Thread Starter
hey thanks for all the great info on power supplies, also i wanted to stay p67 board, i don't feel like i have too much use for the z68 chipset.

as for selling the 560 ti, it would just be too much work and too much of a hassle. 560 ti is way more than enough graphics for what he is doing. also really want to just stick with the Nvidia cards. thanks though.

i went with the psu that ecnelitsep suggested as i am still on a budget and this seemed to be the best but cheapest.

i am going to go with the 1600 mhz ripjaws 8gb so that is solved. How about the monitors? Are they good enough or for ten more dollars per monitor we can get asus.

Maybe shift some pricing.

Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-620 620W $82.98 shipped
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB $57.99 shipped

If you go with the Ripjaws get the X series. They say it is specifically designed for use with Intel so that might help reduce the change of bugs. But I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the standard stuff.

Edit: Didnt see page 2.
