New Cable Modem

Thread Starter
I am in need of a new cable modem. The one I currently have is a cable modem/wireless router (Linksys WCG200). Had it for a long time now, its time for an upgrade.
What is the best cable modem I can buy? Any price range.

Yes, but you will have to pay $10.00 a month for the rental.

This tread piqued my interest. I wonder if I should upgrade as well? I currently run a Motorola Surfboard 5101.

Would I see real difference in DL speeds? I currently run about 25-30MB DL.

Turntable God, not trying to hi-jack your thread, just interested as well.

I went with the Motorola SURFboard SBG6580 and I am impressed!!! I definitely notice the increase in speed compared to my old Linksys.
I would have never upgraded had I not encountered recent issues with my Linksys.
I am happy with my choice so far.

The Surfboards are the best of the best DOCSIS 3.0 routers for consumers Although now that Google bought Motorola, I am hoping they improve their quality. I've 2 Motorola phones still running with a yellow screen

I use the SB6120 and it is great. Plenty of memory and I have had 0 crashes on it! Big upgrade from my old SB5100 and SB5101
