HK 69x0 and gigabyte 6950 1gb

Thread Starter
hey all, my friend's building a computer, and we're having some trouble with the gpu block. He got a gigabyte 6950 1gb (GV-R6950C-1DG) and a heatkiller 69x0 water block. The problem we're having is that the block is nowhere near fitting the card. on the card there's a row of capacitors that cause the block to be raised too high. Does anyone know if this block is supposed to fit this card? Or was the block designed for the 2gb model or something else? Also, if that is the case, would this block fit this card?: HIS 6950 ICEQ Turbo H695QNT2G2M

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The blocks are made for reference cards. Which are no where to be found now. I also have the iceq card. This is the solution I have on it and the temps are great. Below 45c at 1ghz on the core.

Some 6870 blocks may work on the His Iceq card.
