FRAPS compression method?

So I have been recording FRAPS (full size, screw half size) @29.9 FPS and obviously, my AVI files are so freaking huge. My 10 minute video is closer to 3.5Gb!

I use to render the video in Sony Vegas as a WMV, 6 Mbps @720p 29.97fps and it worked great! Turned a 2gig file into a roughly 300Mb file. But the render time was far too long.

Next I tried turning it into an MP4 in Sony Vegas, @1080p, 29.97fps and still worked perfect! Down to 255Mb! It took a little bit less time, but still a little too long for my taste.

Anybody have best program for compression w/o quality loss or best settings in Sony Vegas for FRAPS .avi files?

well, compression or quality loss. Choose one. If you can afford it dxtory > FRAPS.

x264 is good. The container = your choice of MKV or H.264

I expect quality loss, I just don't want it to be super noticeable
