Identifying MCP355

Hi

I've just bought and received a Laing DDC (+i think) pump off of ebay. I wanted the 600 l/h version which the description said it was. But I want to check, how can I do this? The barcode on the pump doesnt relate to anything on google. The impeller is black.

Thanks

Will

What does it say on the side of the pump? I can almost guarantee it's a DDC-1 10W pump.

Any 3rd gen DDC uses a blue impeller (i.e. DDC-3.2)
Any 2nd gen DDC uses orange impeller (DDC-2)
1st gen DDC's use black and red, and I believe the black impellers are for all of the 10W versions.

Oh this doesn't sound good. I thought these were some of the best pumps to get for watercooling. Anyway here are some pictures of the pump to help identify.

Code is 3168440

Yes, that is a MCP350 for sure. It's a true Swiftech since the wires are multi-colored.

The pump should run longer and stay cooler than the 355 type. If the pump is able to maintain 1.0-1.5gpm flow in your loop, then there should be no complaints with it. Too much flow can limit the amount of thermal transfer of heat from the loop. In other words, too much flow will not be able to pick up the heat since the flow doesn't stay long enough to grab it, not release it in the RAD. You could give the pump a try and record the performance findings.

That thing doesn't look like any TRUE Swiftech MCP350 I've seen, never mind that true Swiftech products say Swiftech on them. Note the blue top.

So whats the verdict. Should I be trying to send this back then? Not sure if he will even accept it. If it helps with identifying whether or not I will have to much flow, I will be running a RS360 and a magicool slim 240.

What did you buy? Swiftech makes their own version of a Laing, thus Laings are not Swiftechs, etc.
