Also to add a comment to the GTX 580s SLI at Gamescom. This version was probably still alpha version they where demoing. So probably the game wasnt as optimized yet. I mean during the alpha only one core work for me on my gtx 590 then when the 280 series drivers came out i was able to use both cores. (Didn't try to force SLI , since i was alpha version.) So there probably just thrown gtx 580s in there so it would play smoothly. So im guessing when the final version comes you will be able to play the game smoothly with single gtx 580 and then kick ass in fps when you play the game with GTX 580 sli. (Hoping this is a case )

I just hope DICE tap in the power of DX 11 API. So we can play the game smoothly and have the best eye candy with AA without having a hex-sli and 20 core cpu @ 700ghz with 60gigs of DRR5 running at 500,000mhz

To use metro as a demo map is not a smart move seeing as the Caspian Border gameplay vid got A LOT of people hyped up.

If caspian was at gamescom, it will be at beta as well seeing as E3 got Metro and so did Alpha.
Wanna make it interesting? =)

It's not going to be Caspian Border, let's remember it's a MULTI PLATFORM BETA, so my guess is that it'll be easier for them to water-down Operation Metro on Rush for the consoles than a full blown Conquest map like Caspian Border.

And don't get me wrong, I REALLY REALLY hope you're right, Caspian Border looks unreal.

No offense but you make it sound like there's only one team working on the game. There are teams for each platform, with the PC being the main platform.

Keep in mind the consoles are already watered-down by having 24 players and smaller maps. And as I said, they have different teams working on each platform so that is not an issue.

Trust me when I say this: If Metro is used in beta, many pre-orders will be cancelled. I was in Alpha and let me tell you, Metro left much to be desired since it was 32 players, rush, and no jets. Essentially BC2.

DICE, and especially EA when it comes to $$$, are not dumb. If they want to draw an audience, they will have to give players a TRUE taste of BF3 meaning Caspian Border.

Just like the Metro gameplay video, they showed Caspian for a reason; it's what we will play in beta.

Same here.. I don't plan on upgrading for a while so if I can get away with med/high and 60+ fps then great

Jets just as easy to control as BF2,.
Yay!

but also bad

Reason why

- No, that is not a hack. He was that good. Arguably the best BF2 pilot in the world when BF2 was at it's peak. Was my clanmate. I didn't even bother to hop in the AA when he was flying in pub games and I was the best mobile AA guy in Australasia. BTW, he only used KB + mouse as well. And flew in third person view.

The reason they ran 580's in SLI is because of bad drivers / no proper support yet (since the game isn't out) so extra power else the game won't be so demanding... trust me on that.

I fly with mouse too, too many people think joystick makes them pro.

Flags are close together, felt about the same distance as the flags in Harvest Day from Bad Company 2. The rest of the map was very big.
I was hoping it'd be a little bigger than that, then again 6 flags as opposed to 4. In b4 she said.

I hope thats not a sign my rig has no chance playing at max....
I ran the Alpha with two GTX 570s in SLI, not saying it will easily run the game when it releases, but my two GTX 570s ran it fine. Was getting about 50 FPS with one card, 90+ with two.

I'm not sure how the Alpha was in terms of graphics customization but hopefully a single 6950 at 6970 clocks can get me at least 40fps at 1080p. If it's unbearable, I'll probably be forced to run another one in Crossfire or just upgrade to a 6990 I want to be able to play at a constant 60fps.
