I don't OC much. Just got into it really. Intel's mobo is the only one that can be modified to fit in the laptop I think. Not really sure. Idk. Either way, the laptop is fast enough without too much of an OC. 4.2GHz isn't bad on a laptop and air cooling.

You just buy the most expensive and say I have got the most powerfull.
No disrespect to the OP. Pl dont take it that way. you do have one hell of a laptop.

Money isn't an issue for me btw. Haha. No offense taken.

4.0GHz with HT will chew up any application period.

I wouldn't overclock a laptop if i were you download CoreTemp and run it with Prime 95 Blend Test, if its hitting over 70C reduce your OC.

When I run P95 Blend and Coretemp I get around 72C at a constant 4.2GHz. Of course my fan is on max and sounds like a jet is taking off.

On a different note, it idles at 35-37ish which is really good IMO.

So to clarify, I can't do **** about the Locks on the Mobo?

Damn. lol. It doesn't matter anyways. It's still a beast of laptop anyways. Guess I'll wait till those Ivy Bridges come out to really get into OCing. Thanks anyways.

Says here AVA may update the boards to support overclocking.

so it may be possible later down the road.
