Crucial c300 windows experience score suddenly dropped to 5.9?

Hey guys,

So I've had my c300 64gb set up as a windows 7 boot drive, and while I haven't noticed "significantly" slowed boot times, my windows experience score dropped to 5.9 suddenly..

What could have caused this?

Thanks,
GA

interesting. yoiu must have rerun the assessment?

from time to time winders will update the rating of devices. the criteria is slowly going up. a gtx 260 used to be 7.9, now it is WAY lower.
so as faster devices come out, the older devices go down a peg.
you could also use HDDerase on your ssd and get it back to "new"

Hey,
thanks for the quick reply.

I was planning to do a re install soon... would that achieve the same effect if I format the SSD?

Thanks,
GA

You shouldn't really bother with the Windows Experience score. You can change that with a simple registry edit to show 7.9 for everything, even with old hardware. As long as the computer performs like you want it to, then you are good to go thumb.gif

WEI is a joke. May as well make up some of the decimals yourself.

Install this and you should get the proper score:

Intel® Rapid Storage Technology

Try running a benchmark where we can see the numbers like as-ssd.

Secondly WEI is not useless. I used to think it was too. But running WEI after system setup is important as it sends info to cmos about power schemes and mapping.

Yes, OCZ was good for something. smile.gif
