Uber Buget Build

Thread Starter
Just saw an ad on craigslist for pretty much complete system, and with a price of just $50 I couldn't pass it up! If the link doesn't work, or you are just lazy, here's what it came with:

-Thermochill PA 120.3 Radiator w/3 fans
-EK-Supreme HF CPU Block
-Swifttech MCW-60 VGA Block
-Swifttech MCP655 Pump w/aftermarket top

I also got most of the mounting hardware, a T with a fillport, and a good length of tubing. My goal is to try to set this up for my Phenom X3 720 BE and possibly get a block for my 8800GTX. I'll be cleaning the blocks and leak testing everything tomorrow so stay tuned for more pics!

Nice! I wouldn't trust the tubing, though. 10 feet of Primochill tubing for $16.25 on Amazon...

Wow, you're cutting back so much on this build that you even left the d out of budget in the thread title lol.
Looking good, post end results!

Need to clean just about everything from the blocks to the pump but I'm a little swamped with info. Is water+vinegar good to clean pretty much all components with?

Well that depends, if you run vinegar through the loop you might clog it but on the out side it should be fine, there is most likely a reason he was selling for $50 something has to be broken pump, leaks, etc

Wasn't planning on running vinegar through the loop just trying to find something that will clean the crud off the water blocks.

Right now I just have both blocks soaking in vinegar+water and it seems to be working. On an unrelated I just took a nap and had a dream that my CPU block turned into a turtle shell and my GPU block turned into grilled tuna! O_o

No pics yet cuz I have no way to upload pictures to my computer. I cleaned the blocks and everything but when I went to hook it up the pump didn't work! I tore it apart and the impeller is not spinning. I think it might be caught up on some gunk so more cleaning.... on a good note everything else is holding water!
