I have never tried overclocking and I want to get this right the first time. I'm not looking for anything crazy, I just want something that is stable and gets me a little more out of my current setup.

Does anyone have a link on how to overclock this chip and what a safe frequency is? Or, what would the steps be? Since the CPU is unlocked, can I just go into the BIOS and change the multiplier? BTW, currently my CPU is running at 1.2v.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Here's what I found quickly for a guide, Looks good. With your set up you could get a pretty nice overclock but I would aim for around 3.8-4 Ghz.

Take a look at that guide, give it a try and ask back with any questions

Thats exactly what you can do, which is the beauty of the X. For example, I have mine bumped with a multi of x29 without any voltage changes at all to run at 3.8ghz. Plenty fast enough for what I use it for.

Easy peezy...

PS I'd also recommend filling out your system specs in your user control panel for others trying to help u.

wait wait..........

you want to overclock a six core processor? why not just the graphics.

i mean i can obviously see why, but if i were you, i'd bump up my graphics card, assuming you have a quality card to go with beast of a system you own
