i7 920 c0,c0/c1,d0?

Thread Starter
so lately ive been reading lots of forums about c0 and d0 revisions on a 920. No where did i find anything about co/c1. And what do you know my 920 just happens to be a c0/c1. Im guessing it came after c0 but before d0.

Can anyone explain to me the difference of the c0/c1 compared to the c0 or d0? ie. is it better than the c0 for overclocking etc. etc.

Voltage. That's about it. You will likely require more volts than a d0 stepping but less than a c0 (not by much). Either way your fine. Your should be able to take that CPU to 4.0 easily on air regardless. Just may require upwards of 1.3V. You also may see a bit more heat than a d0 stepping.

I would really recommend it. Hitting 4GHz on a Bloomfield is cake. Should take all of 10 minutes provided you know your way around a BIOS. There's a great guide on here to speed you along if you like. Much easier than 775 was cool.gif

i know i could easily reach 4.0, im at 3.67Ghz right now, i just dont see the point. 3.6 quad core is fast enough to run anything these days. Plus if i went to 4.0 ide probably have to raise voltages which will raise temps and all that jazz, i just dont see the point, plus im too lazy to go into bios and change everything and make sure its stable all over again. Maybe in another year or so when ill actually need to OC i will.

Like i said i just want to know what the differences are.
