CryENGINE® 3: Next Generation Real-Time Graphics






I made this thread for those who use the Cryengine for more then just gaming. I've been learning a lot about the Cryengine 2 and 3 and still have much to learn haha.

It's sad to see CryEngine 3's potential wasted with the release of Crysis 2. It could've been a much better game.

Something I'm working on right now

importing USP into cryengine 3




As you can see I'm having a little problem with the pistol hammer hopefully I find a fix.

This is a great engine for all kinds of things. I may want to start doing some animation/ film work using this engine. Is it difficult to use? I am quite a rookie.

How did you import animations and the hand rig?

When you download the sdk they give you the max file for the hands. As for the animations I made it use the normal Nova animation but I told it what part to use for what. For example I told the cry engine where my clip was in my gun and the other different things such as trigger, hammer , slide, and slide lock.

Yeah, the faces were no where that detailed in the game, even after the patch. Shame.
I'm confident the modders will deliver in a few months.

Oh, so you didn't import animations. I'll check out the hand. How did you assign the parts for the animation? By elements or was your model made of separate objects?

well the important parts have to be separate for the animation. Clip, hammer, slide, mag release, trigger are the ones that need to be separate. Then you gotta open the original crysis gun in 3ds max and copy the bones then add weight to each part of your gun. Then you gotta add the cry skin modifier and export
