32v32 - 64 map implies there will be 64 player slots.


I hope one of those top 3 priority is improved netcode and hitbox detection

i dont know what game u have been playing but, bc2 only has 32 players max in one server for pc.

that being said. bf3 will have 64 players max officially.

I was talking about what would be needed for 256 player games to be a realistic and enjoyable possibility

playing on a 256 player environment (with the same graphics settings) would easily be an order of magnitude more stressful than than 64 players on all parties involved (ie the server, the clients, and the connections between them)

I never said anything about default BF3 w/ 64 players needing a rig like mine

It has nothing to do with optimization and everything to do with raw hardware and network power.
I cant count how many friends of mine play BC2 on a rig worse than mine and with a 5 Meg connection.

There is no realistic way to have a 256 person fight unless EVERY person playing is on a VERY fast connection with a fairly powerful computer.
And that is an unreasonable expectation.

BC2 is 32 players total, or 16v16

BF2 and 2142 was 64 players total, or 32v32

BF3 will be like BF2 / 2142

LvL doesn't mean much more than experience in BF3.
In Halo, levels were determined based on wins and loses. Not the case here.
So long as rank is unaffected by wins and loses, stats really don't matter.
