2x SSD in Raid 0 for OS + programs, and 3 or 4 2TB disks in Raid 5 for storage

I am new to seting up Raid so i need a few advices.
As my title says I am planing on buying 2 x SSD Corsair Force 3 disks and set them up in Raid 0 for OS and programs.
And buying 4 x (WD 2TB caviar Green OR Seagate Barracuda 2TB Green) and set them up in a Raid 5 array for storage.
The speed of the Raid 5 array is not that important since it is mainly for storage.
and i dont want a raid 0+1 since i would use more disks for redundancy.

Do i need to buy a raid controller to get this to work or can i use the 6 SATA ports on my mobo (M4A89 TD pro) to manage the raid setup?
and while im asking. what disks would ya prefere WD caviar green 2TB or Seagate Baracuda 2TB green ?

Personally I prefer the wd greens. I have 2 myself and soon to be 4. Never had an issue with them and from memory they had the lowest failure rates in the tests I looked at.

WD FTW!! I have never had a good experience out of Seagate. I try them every few years but end up RMAing almost every one of them (8 out of 10 RMAed) so I stick with what I know to be good WD!

ok Then I will go for the WD disks eventhou i just had to RMA one of them.
Have heard that they age quicker beacause they spin down when idle.
But i trust you guys =)

Anyways, do i need to have any raid controllers to get my set up to work or does my mobo manage to control it?
I want max speed out of my SSD raid0 setup and in the raid 5 setup i realy don't care that much about the speed, i just want the redundancy of the raid 5 so i don't have that big chance of loosing all my stored data
I have heard that if i dont have an Raid controller that the Raid 5 will use the CPU's clock cycles, but i have an AMD x6 @ 3.8GHz, will even notice that the Raid takes some cycles now and then ?
