(SOLVED)Does boot and nuke need to be 100% completed?

cause i started it 10 hours ago on my GFs 2tb wd black and its still projecting 11 hours left...

we had installed ubuntu temporarily on it till we could get a hold of windows 7, now i want to install windows on her SSD, so i nuked the HDD to be used as storage.

so what will happen if i stop it at 50%? will the harddrive be bricked?

I got the sdd and HDD working nicely together

You didn't need to nuke it in the first place. You're fine.

ok so are you saying that if i stop it now in the middle of the prosses it will be fine?

I've done it many times. You will just need to format the drive, which should take seconds.

Yes, you only need to nuke it if you are getting rid of the drive or giving/selling it to someone else. It doesn't matter if your drive has your old data on it since you are going to be the one using it. Like someone else said, just format it and you're ready to go.

Yes.

There is one other step. After reattaching the HDD, check the boot order in the BIOS and make sure it's still set to the SSD. If it gets flipped to the HDD, you'll probably just get a blinking underscore when you try to boot.
