I'm looking for a good headphone that has a bit of noise cancelling(my brother has the Bose QuietComfort® 3, they are good but cost to much). I will mostly use it for movies(on my pc), music(mp3,phone,pc) and some gaming(pc).
When i'm in the car or airplane i also wanne use it without hearing much surround noise.
My budget is around 150 euro(will this be enough for such a headphone?)
I found the following headphones on google for such a price:
Sennheiser HD 598
Sennheiser HD 448
Sennheiser HD 518
Sennheiser HD 558
The Sennheiser HD 598 looks great but also has the highest price. Will that be a good headphone?
Sennheiser PC350 what I use. Gaming headset though. I got to tell you, Sennheisers are the best headsets I've ever bought. But I've never tried the HD series.
None of those would be good for noise-cancelling except for maybe the HD448 because it's a closed-back headphone. Even so, from what I've heard, its sound quality is lackluster. Sennheiser is not the brand you want if you want noise-cancelling. You're better off just getting a closed-back headphone instead of a headphone with active noise-cancelling. You'll get more sound quality for your money this way, and it's not like passive noise-cancelling is terrible by any means.
The Ultrasone PRO 550 is a good suggestion, but I think it sells for more than 150 Euros in Holland (here is a Dutch retailer I found). For under 150 Euros, I'll have to compare American and Euro prices, so give me some time to do that and then I can give you some good suggestions.
What I meant by that statement was that you can get way more sound quality for your money by simply going with a passive noise-cancelling headphone than an active noise-cancelling one. Yes, Sennheiser makes noise-cancelling headphones, but you rarely (if ever) see any actual audiophiles using them. You mostly see people recommending the HD line of headphones, and not for no good reason. Active noise-cancelling headphones are horribly overpriced. Look at this [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Active-Noise-Canceling-Headphones/dp/B000089GN2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1313986782&sr=8-3]crap[/ame] and tell me you wouldn't buy an A700 or some other closed-back cans in this price range over that...
Don't bother with Sennheiser, most of them you listed are open which will mean you won't get any noise cancellation, and the 5xxs need an amp. I too would suggest an Ultrasone, what music do you listen to? I would also suggest checking out Denon.
I checked out the Ultrasone - PRO 550 Headphones(decimate thanks for the amazon.co.uk link they do ship to holland for free)
The headphone looks good but are they silver or black? On amazon they got a black color but on the official Ultrasone site they are silver(i sended ultrasone a email about this).
By the way they cost 136 euro with shipping so its a very good price since they cost much more in Holland. The only problem is that i don't have a creditcard
RedCloudFuneral thanks for the brand Denon. I checked out there website and the AH-D1100 is in my price range. It's cheaper then the ultrasone pro 550 but is it good? I also checked out the Ultrasone HFI range but is there a difference between these and the pro's?
I mostly listen to trance, techno, hardstyle, and it will be my first headphone
The only problem i have is that the cable is short. Need to get a longer 1
I also played a bit BC2 but didn't hear any difference to be true then with my speakers(I think it's the x-fi drivers).
I still need to play some good music hehe
