What for you justifies more than 1G of Vram? At your current resolution, 1G of Vram is plenty.
Also, 2 480s. Get very hot. Plus, you have said your looking at B stock ones to get em cheap. What happens after you blow close to $500 and 3 months later they die? No warranty, no service. Your out quite a bit of money. That could have been put to better use on a newer card, that will perform more than capable for your current needs.

You don't need a 580 to run that resolution. A 580 would destroy even 1080p. Just get a 570 for now, you won't need to replace it and if you do need more power for example if you bought a new monitor or perhaps several new monitors you could just buy another 570 and run them in SLI.

yes, youre right also, but compare the specs from a gtx 480(219$)

And....

a GTX 570 at (350$)

the truth is,a gtx 480 is absolutely like a gtx 570,...
only the 570 have more texel rate or i dunno what...
but in other hands, the 480,beat the 570's otherwise...

i could buy two 480's for 50$ more then a single 570.

Why choose the 570's over evga.com 219$ 480 1535Mb video card?

Anyone can answer my last question?

-i know heat will be more present with 480 in SLI.
but i will kick the 570 ass in (gtx 480 SLI)
for the same price lol....

I need to order tonight, because im tired of waiting to play my steam games.

Final thoughts

gtx 480 x 2(SLI) for 435$
or........
(Blank,Insert!!!)

and why
?

I think i could manage the heat if its the only downside.

To me, it seems like you aren't too worried about saving money for Keplar. Hence the reason that the 560ti seems to be out of the window.

I stated earlier, go with ONE 560ti. If it isn't fast enough, add in another. Will be around the price of two 480s, but it will be cooler and plenty fast.

You are gaming at 1680x1050. You will NEVER need more than 1GB of VRam. If you do, send me an email and I will put it in my sig, discrediting me for all eternity.

What matters is if you are HAPPY with your purchase. If you will be HAPPY with a $435 hair dryer in your computer, that's awesome. If you want to try a lower-powered card that will do the same thing as two 480s with your resolution (at lowered FPS), do so.

Those are my suggestions. Buy what you want. This is overclock.net. We LOVE overkill.

Edit: I know that your power supply will power two 560ti's. Not sure about two 480s. They love some power.

one single gtx 480 will outbeat a single 560 ti no??

i could always only buy 1 480 for 200$
Because im worried about my PSU

i know a single 560 ti would be ok.
But since the gtx 480 refurbished is only 200$,in other words, less expensive then the 560 ti...
why would i buy a gtx 560 ti.
And the SLI thing for the GTX 480 is simple...
NO gtx 480 can be found on the net ,or not many let me tell u....
at 200$ the card,...the last one refurbished will be sold in not too far.........
So either i only take a single gtx 480 for 200$...and wont be able to upgrade it anytime soon if needed(since the card is discontinued and hard to find)
for 200$ each card,...i dont think its a bad investment.
ill be able to keep those cards for awhile.

Dude, everything has been said in this thread. No need to beat a dead horse.
You seem hellbent on getting a $200 480. Then just get it. Do what you want, your the own who makes the final decision for your own build. Not us.

Ski

I personally am against it. Not because of any price to $$ ratio. Solely on the fact that it will only have a 90 day warranty from date and time of purchase. Not when you receive the card, but form the moment the company had legally sold it to you. So if it takes 3 weeks to get it, well, there goes near 1/3 of your warranty period. I would just hate to see it fail on you sooner than later and then read a post about you complaining about a crappy card that failed soon.
