6990 Quad-Fire vs 6970 Tri-Fire vs 580 Tri-SLI: Which would give least microstutter?

Which of these graphics solutions would give the least microstutter at 1920 x 1200 resolution with V-Sync enabled? Yes, I know that such a system is way overpowered for 1920 x 1200, but I want to build one anyways.

Any responses will be appreciated.

Thanks.

you would only need one 6990...that is way overboard..litterally way overboard..

I know it's overboard. That wasn't my question. My question is which setup would give the least microstutter at 1920 x 1200.

Thanks.

The Tri-SLI 580 would be the fastest solution and probably have the least microstutter.

TBH, I haven't really heard any complaints regard MS in a very long time. Drivers/firmware seem to be really good at mitigating it.

I will say that the three AMD GPUs would likely be better with microstutter at higher resolution due to the larger pool of RAM.

I just found this thread: http://www.overclock.net/amd-ati/104...nchmarked.html

And it seems like there is little to no microstutter even with 6990 Quad-Fire.

This is good to know and now I can conclude that based on the thread linked above and other reviews I have read on the net, that microstutter is a rare and far over-exaggerated phenomenon these days. And even if microstutter exists (which is questionable), it's probably hardly noticeable at all.

Thanks for the responses.
