Simple Watercooling Build Need Help - Page 2

A few things: use 1 pump, use only distilled water, and finally pump order will not effect your temperatures. However, for ease of installation/bleeding start with the res before and above the pump. (So gravity feeds the pump with water).

Two Pumps is overkill for your pump. I don't know much about all of the manufactured fluids but I don't believe they are the best in terms of performance.

As for building, the loop should be something like pump-> radiator -> CPU-> GPU -> Reservoir -> pump.

You will need to flush the radiator to clean out all of the gunk left form the manufacturing process. Fill it with hot water, shake, repeat till it comes out clean, then a final rinse with distilled water.

If you can afford two pumps it won't hurt. Like others have said, it's nice to have two for redundancy in case one malfunctions. One will definitely serve your purposes however.

Well, bad for your wallet at least

But with only two blocks in your loop one will do the job more than adequetly, especially a MCP655.

You dont "need" the extra pump. you can use it, as it wont hurt your loop but its not needed. If you were say doing cpu, 3x gpu and motherboard block, then yes. There is a lot of restriction in that setup but not yours.

As far as fluid. Distilled water is all you need. Dont waste your money on manufactured fluids.

Now, you also might want to look into getting some shrouds for your fans. they will help with your static pressure and give you better cooling performance.

Besides that, looks like a solid build. Start taking pictures asap. Sub'd

I would advise in using the 2 pump setup because of redundncy. I litterally just had a 355 die on me last week, and now im going through hell with swiftech to get a replacement. Now remember this is only after 2 months of use. Dont get me wrong this liittle bugger is a beast but for now on i will always be running 2 pumps for my own peice of mind

hmm..i dunno wat to say..not a closed loop person..i wouldn't think a second pump would be necessary..might add heat,even

This. And just times it by 2. So you have 12 watts of of heat dump per pump. And this is back in 07. The pumps that your using now might even be more efficient. So I wouldnt worry about the heat a second pump would add to the system. Especially with that radiator. It wouldn't even raise the temp of the water if you ran both pumps and the radiator with fans.

Now as for doing two pumps for redundancy, it isnt a bad idea. If I had the ability to do it, I would, but I dont right now. So later on I will.

If you like the way the res looks, and you like the setup you have with those pump. Stick with it. If you do it, I would be jealous.

ok gonna put things together today
i had 2 last questions
I have 1/2" Barbs shud I use 1/2 Tubing or 7/16 tubing I have both 1 black 1 white
also shud I distilled water or Fluid XP+ Ultra Non-Conductive Phantom Black I have both as well ready
also where to put the silver coil thing.. I feel it might run thru the loop to my pump and ruin it :<
