Us Americans, actually stand up and do something about it?

We can't even stand up against our government, let alone internet companies.

Besides, half the people in America don't even know how much of a ripoff the internet prices are here because they are too inept to see what people around the world pay and of course, they just plain don't understand technology.

You guys in the U.K. need to realize you guys have way better, faster and more advanced adoption of broadband than we do in the U.S., no need to rub it in
Just because some of our ISPs are slow and retarded doesn't mean our Nascar and Cheeseburgers suck.

Ok, yes they do.

Yeah, $50. No TV or phone combo. Just cable internet.

Today I get a letter in the mail that says I am transferring too much information monthly, and that they are going to give me a $5 surcharge for every 25GB of data over MY LIMIT of 100GB PER MONTH.

Last month while I was working 40 hours a week, I transferred just over 300GB of data.

They have no option to upgrade my limit of transferred data. All speed plans only allow 100GB per month.

What do I do?

The 5 dollars for 25gigs is nothing compared to what my isp offers when going over. They want $2.50 for every gig up to a maximum of 30 I think probably higher. Also the bandwidth cap is 60gb download and upload.

It use to be unlimited download and upload then they decided to punish everyone for 1% of the people that were downloading/uploading over 100gb. How much does it cost an isp in canada per gig like 1 cent?

I don't actually go through that much. That's just my data limit, it's how much i have to use.

I usually only use a few gigs a month, but that's because i tether my phone to my laptop.

But it's handy because i don't have to worry when i download large files through my phone onto my laptop.
