Lol H80 fault

Thread Starter
Just wanted to share.

I build systems for a living and we have just started getting the h80's come through in builds.

I was trying to work out why this one computer I had built over the weekend was back screening very quickly. I finally got into the Bios and found that the 2600k installed was sitting at 99°C.

I fist checked all the screws an then the paste.. all was good.

The fan controller was working as were the fans, even the pump was making the usual sounds.

Then I noticed how light the pump/block head was... I tapped the rad with my fingernail and found the problem...

No fluid, not a drop.. somehow this particular unit had not been filled.

RMA time.

Nothing against H80's all the others I have used have been good performers I just wanted to mention this one as I made me lol at work today.

nice!

never having a closed wc unit, instinctively, when i got my Antec620 and noticed how small the chambers were, the first thing i did was shake it next to my ear thinking "how much fluid can there be in there?"

WOW! That isn't not cool! haha, good work figuring it out, lucky the CPU didn't get damaged, let us know what Corsair says about it.

Possibly a bad batch? Its really weird that one.

Will just send it back to our supplier, not point in making a fuss...

It is the first time I have ever seen an empty closed system.
