It may feel that way with uberaliasing at first but if you look closely at the edges they are silky smooth. It's like playing a FMV! Pretty impressive I must say. And the details are definitely still there.

I also think there are games like Crysis 2 that can pull off this effect off with filters and get the job done really well while still having it run great too. It's too bad that uberaliasing takes another 1-3 of my video cards to run really well. I'd like to see more of this in future games though. I never really though AA mattered until I saw The Witcher 2 in action.

Ãœbersampling is useless. Turn it off, go to your graphics card control center, crank up the anisotrophic filtering to 16x and enable Edge Detect antialiasing mode with Super Sampling AA (only available to AMD hardware) then launch the game, see how useless the Ãœbersampling is for yourself. You'll get the same visual fidelity with no great performance hit.

good to know.. i dropped using ati/amd cards with the 1600XT 256mb ;D
starting to argue with myself because i did not buy 6990 or something.. dang it.
is there any way to get similar controls over the graphic settings like Nhancer/nvidia inspector? maybe with some kind of beta uber driver?!

it 5UX so hard that since dx11 you cannot control AA like before..

I don't know where you learned that but that's just plain wrong. Ubersampling renders a frame at 3x the resolution and downscales it. This is good for AA but the sharpness of the textures is slightly lost. This is the same method of ENB mod for GTAIV where photorealistic graphics are achieved.
