Towards the bottom of the post the x86 is 2.3GB and the x64 is 3GB , But I think these have to be unpacked.. Worth reading the above though ^-^

I recently used an upgrade version and completely wiped my XP drive with a different app first, just to see if it worked. I installed Windows 7 in advanced mode and then skipped entering a key, applied all updates and then activated (now giving my key). It activated without a hitch. Didn't even have to go as far as the "double install".

I guess for most people buying at retailers, the price is slightly higher for an upgrade pack than an OEM copy, so MS probably doesn't lose much sleep over it.

Hi

Well I found this video on YouTube which allows you to use a windows 7 upgrade CD as a clean install.

As you maybe aware Upgrade CD can do clean installs but the CD key cant. this video shows you how to get around this.

I have used this and it work for me. Got fed up of having to install XP every time.
