CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB vs G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB

Hey OCN,

Here is my problem, two same priced 2x 4GB 1600 Mhz memory modules. One is corsair other is G.Skill.

Corsair

G.Skill

They are exactly the same price. Is this just a matter of taste and color ? Or does anyone see a clear winner among these two ?

My PC will be:
2500k
GTX 580
MSI Z68GD65 possible SLI in the future

Mostly gaming, wont be doing any benchmarks or massive overclocking. Might get a 4+Ghz on my CPU if I feel it needs it.

They're pretty much the same, both 1600 9-9-9-24 1.5v, just different brands.

Only reason I avoided the Corsair was the clearance for my cooler.

Will be going for an Antec H20 620 so wont have any clearance problems.

if you wish to OC the ram, avoid the vengeance.. Just avoid it.. Its a 50/50 chance that you can OC it, unlike the g.skills in which i experienced, can be easily OC, almost 100% of them that i used.

Both would be fine, but due to a few threads popping up here, with problems with the Vengeance series, I'd also avoid them.

Plus the fact that if any problem does arise, G.Skill's customer service is top notch.

In your considerations, you should also take a look at some Mushkin memory, they are also highly rated, and have excellent customer service.
