420/280mm rad with holes to mount 120mm fans? - Page 2

That's what I thought. I wish someone made an adapter for that, though. I am currently pondering if the Airplex Revolution 420/360 is the most viable option at this point if I want to use the fans I already have/120 mm fans in general, which tend to be better than most 140mm fans, albeit louder.

If duct tape could really handle that kind of weight, lol...

Use the adapter plate I linked to. That turns yer 140mm openings into 120mm. Then get some 120mm fans and use your 120mm rad.

*just realized spacing will be wrong. Another option is to use a rad grill.

I don't think the spacing would work, unless a single mounted adapter+fan would support the whole rad. It is technically a 280mm opening. The rad is a 360mm.

Do you have room to cut for a 360mm rad grill?

I don't have the tools for that and don't quite feel like modding it atm. If you can visualize this, the best plan I can think of would be to mount the adapter on the outside, then mount the 360mm rad grill on top of that so that the last fan would be fully mounted, with the adapter perhaps blocking the first two set of holes for the second fan, and the rest rad sticking into the first 5.25" drive bay slot.

Lian Li A77F. I really wish it didn't come with non-standard 140mm top fans, while the rest of the fans installed are 120mm.

Why not just go w/ a 2x140mm radiator for now. Then just use the Bgears adapters later on for 120mm fans. They adapters are only $7 @ PPCs, plus they act as a 13mm should.

I'm just trying to figure out the most cost-effective solution. I had thought of that, but that's extra cost in addition to a new rad. I guess if it can't be helped, I'll have to go that route.

I went w/ the cheapest 2x140mm radiator available, a Magicool. It does a pretty good job w/ a pair of GT AP-15's and the Bgear adapters.

Sorry to resurrect an OLD thread... I have a Lian Li PC-Z70 it has twin 140mm fans on top with what seems to be a lot of room.

There are a some brand new 280mm rads out there but there are not premade package kits out. It seems to STILL be cheaper to have a double
or triple 120mm rad. Is there an adapter out yet that lets you use use a 240mm Rad on 280mm holes from the 2 140mm fans?? Thanks in advance!
