Replacement for Nidec TA600DC fan

HI,

I currently have Nidec TA600DC Model: A34969-90 in my HP DL 740 server

These are hot plug fans, 192mm X 50mm

They work fine but make sound like vaccum cleaner.

I would like to replace them for a low noise (low CFM is fine with me as long as it stays quiet..since I don't intend to run the server for more than 5 hrs a day)

Any help in locating the alternative or suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It will be easier to buy a fan controller, like the rheobus extreme, for example.

Or much easier, buy a voltage reducer cable:

I'm sure you can find better and cheaper cables, I just quickly searched ebay for examples.
Usually fans run @12V

OK..I never thought about that..I was only thinking about getting a replacement fan that has less dbA even if it is less CFM.

I will check it out..thank you

It will be easier and cheaper to run your current fans at a lower voltage, or RPM by purcahsing a 2 bucks little cable smile.gif

I am trying to find a cable that can fit my fan. The current fan as 6 pin Molex.
3X3, 3 pins each in a row. I dont seem to be able to find a voltage reducer cable for 6 pin. Are these rare? I see 3 or 4 pin everywhere.

Thanks

check if you are really going to need all the 6 connectors.

my adapter only uses pins to control the voltage on my 3 and 4 pin cables. The 3rd is a cable used to mobos to read speed and the 4th is a PWM cable.

You could also buy another adapter to the 6pin molex to a 3 pin for example.

See what you can find.

Post pictures or start another thread so somebody could help you further, I may be limited to solve your problem smile.gif
