OFC its going to be the most impressive, consoles are going to have upscaled 720p, with textures/shadows on low, little to no AA.

DX11 is never going to come to skyrim, runs on an updated Oblivion engine. Programmed purely on DX9, made before DX10 was even out.

They are going to release updated textures, but better base textures to work off of mean a better end result as well. Watch the videos again, the textures don't look that great.

mods won't be able to plug in DX11 enhancements into a DX9 graphics engine. Not even including the complexity of such a task.

I'm not saying Skyrim will be a bad game, from my original post i just said it was a console port and wished it was PC lead platform.

Game looks absolutely stunning but I've been here before with Oblivion. The hype for that game was almost as bad as this one and it was a typical Bethesda game that game littered with bugs and glitches.

Don't mistake me, I enjoyed Oblivion and I am looking forward to Skyrim but my expectations are tempered compared to others.

I was very excited for this, especially after the coverage at E3 this year. It looks fantastic and I think I'm happiest about the fact that they got rid of that nauseating "zoom" when you talk to someone. And the dragons look crazy.

But...

As seemingly all typical Bethesda games go, there's a good chance it'll be riddled with bugs. And seeing as I still can't run New Vegas (CTD on start) and their support has completely ignored my emails I'm just not going to buy it. Period. Maybe if they actually respond I'd go for it, but right now my money is better spent elsewhere.

Not that it matters, its Elder Scrolls and it'll sell like crazy anyway.

I am very excited about Skyrim. I do not mind it being a console port on an updated engine of Oblivion, mods will fix it up nicely. Besides it came from the director's mouth that the PC version will look a lot better due to higher res textures and things. They have still done more than COD ever did, remember that.

You realize bethesda only published New Vegas right, it was developed by Obsidian a team known for releasing incredibly buggy games.

You sure that it runs on the gamebryo engine?

Since I was quite sure that I heard them say it runs on some sort of unreal engine or something.

If you watch the E3 gameplay videos he says its an updated Oblivion engine. Sorry, don't have time to find anything specific right now.

It is sad that it's a console port but I'll still devote hours upon hours of my life into the vanilla version of the game and then I'll devote even more once some great mods are released .
