Why most people don't finish video games

This is an interesting article on CNN of all places that discusses how most people don't finish games.

http://articles.cnn.com/2011-08-17/t...ers?_s=PM:TECH

I can relate to this myself, I find myself getting tired of single player games well before their conclusion often or putting them down and not going back. Time is limited for me and I have to really like a game to finish it. Recent games I didn't finish:

Witcher 2
Black Ops
Portal 2 co-op campaign
Dragon Age 2

Often I feel like im part way through and I've seen pretty much all it has to offer. Also it seems like some games are long just for the sake of being long! It doesn't really serve to develop the story or introduce new elements. Multiplayer is a different beast for me as I'll play it forever if it has depth for me like Left 4 dead 2 versus or bad company 2.

What do you guys think?

I think most people tend to concentrate on the multiplayer aspect of games. This could be because of the social aspect, variety of game modes or the unlocks available.
