For the stock cooler, 65 degrees is completely normal (and actually good for a Prime load). But 90+ on a D14 is unheard of! The D14 should certainly not be running hotter than the stock cooler. Around 70 degrees would be in the norm. But if your stock cooler is getting 65, then the D14 should be well below 60 under the same circumstances.
Ambient temperature can effect cpu temps too, but not 20+ degrees difference. Unless you have your puter in the oven.
I vote for user error with the TIM.
