Exactly. You are approaching this the wrong way OP.

Most ridiculous thing I've heard about AMD memory.... ever.
Whoever said this has no idea what he or she is talking about. Don't listen to him/her.
I assumed the person meant the Thuban's IMC was better than Deneb's somehow and that it had nothing to do with core count as I also assume that's what you were getting at.

Normally I would've ignored the statement but it was made by a G.Skill rep and I would hope they know what they're talking about.

I've already got an idea as to what CPU I'm going to get. I'm currently finding out which ones work with the speed and timings I want to get.

Of course the Thuban IMC is better, but it doesn't have anything to do with what latencies you can run at. Frequency capability can pertain more to IMC. Timings pertain to IC capability.

Look at my rig and tell me that I can't run 6/7cl ram. I will say that you are full of bull, because I have a Phenom II 555 at 4.1ghz, NB speed of 3000 and G.Skill DDR3 1600 at 6-8-6-20-24-1T. So with that said the guy that said only the x6 can handle ram with cl6 or cl 7 is stupid.

Don't confuse me with the G.Skill rep; I never said anything other than an X6 could use RAM like that.

With that said, thank you everyone for the info/clarification.
