Kingston hyper x Ddr3 (8gb 1600)

Anyone use them I was set on ripjaws x or sniper, but couldn't pass on the 48 dollar deal new egg had on them....

Hopefully I did the right choice. The few reviews I found looked excellent compared to skill. They were able to do cl9@1866 with them too.

I had a set with my 980X, and they ran just fine!

I think Kingston kinda gets a bad rap, cause they are most popular for there value ram.
But there Hyper X is nice stuff!

Got 12Gbs worth of Kingston Hyper X T1 1600MHz ram, and I've had zero issued with them on my sig rig. Only thing is that the mobo didn't recognized them as 1600MHz but 1333. Went into the BIOS and manually set them. But that's not really a con. Other than that, they're great. smile.gif

i got the 8gb kingston hyper X genesis about 3 weeks ago. it was 80$ at frys, but had a mail in rebate so it was only 49$. got it to upgrade from my 4gb g.skill ram. i really like it a lot. dont know if i notice a speed increase when multi tasking. but still worth the price. would i recommend it? yea if your looking to upgrade its a good deal!

mail in rebate is taking forever though

thanks guys, I'm glad then! The Patriot Gamer 2 actually looked good too (37 bucks after rebate) but this was straight 48 dollars. 48 bucks for 8 gigs!?!? can't complain.

Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 $44.99

DAMN, it's 4 bucks less now!!! mad.gif

that has nothing to do with the ram, but the fact that the stock memory speed for SB is 1333...all ram starts at 1333 with sandy until you change it.

but yeah, the hyperX is good stuff, from what i understand, wasnt linus of linus tech tips using hyperX until recently in his test bench?
