What kind of apps offhand would the iPad have for professional photographers? Something to view RAW?

I'll put it this way. I'm looking to make money with my camera. I have most of my business aspect down in a nutshell. One thing I love is SquareUp(app to manage receipts/card reader). Android and iPad use it. I think the iPad may have more features(not a big deal though).

I want to use this tablet device to show customers some of my works. I wanna be able to easily transfer images to the tablet(SD card attachment, USB dongle, idc). Whatever is easiest, and preserves the most quality while displayed on the device. I feel like the iPad 2 is a clear cut winner, with maybe the Galaxy Tab closing in. I don't care if this tablet can do Angry Birds in HD, it's going to be strictly business.

The Acer Iconia W500 is a very cheap Windows Tablet. Windows beats iOS, in my opinion.

That's like comparing apples to oranges IMO. The only similarity they have is that they're both tablets. Other than that you're comparing operating systems meant for different things.

All the stuff I use is really only of use in a studio environment so it's hard to recommend it when the majority of people on here don't shoot in such an environment.

I would seriously consider the Hp touchpad.

It has an IPS screen as well. It also displays pictures quite well on the native WebOs.
Just a thought, if you don't like webos.. A bootloader for android is days away.

It's not unreasonable to say that I'd prefer Windows over iOS. Thankfully, the option to run Windows on a tablet, for cheap, is available, courtesy of Acer.

i dont knwo what your business plan is like, but generally you wouldnt want to show your clients just raws from camera instead it would the "creme dela creme" of your portfolio. From specification any tablet will do the job since it will only be from the gallery or a webpage.

but the ipad2 definitely has more of a "Chic/Wow" factor, which may make you look more trendy or in the know. for presentation only i would use a ipad2. if i had to use it for say a laptop replacement for a shoot then any android with a USB port, i have already a few times dumped images to my tablet since i ran out of memory on my memory cards.

I like to show client's pre-touchups. And they enjoy it too. Its fascinating for them to see what it was, and what it turns out to be a few days later. It's a "wow" factor for them.

I don't know how much performance you'd actually need from a tablet for photographic purposes.
