I had "Asus Crosshair Formula" which is what he made the sarcastic comment about, and he got all insulted when I corrected it and made a sarcastic response. He got all upset I corrected it, so I got even more sarcastic.

I'm not sure why people seem to think that OCing the 590 will somehow let it beat the 6990. Just compare 2 580s to 2 6970s. They 6xxx scale so well that they're equal. The 580 is a beast in 1vs1 but in scaling it takes a back seat. Sure it sucks you can't OC the 590 but that's not going to help it beat a 6990 regardless.

In nearly every game on the market, an OC'd 590 actually out-performs the 6990's in nearly every category.

Recent benchmarks of the MARS II actually use a stock 590 vs a stock 6990 and it's clearly seen that even a crippled 590 is out-performing the 6990 in most instances.

We're not talking Heaven/Ungine/benches etc, we're talking real world games/applications.

And P.S. you can OC the 590...Just not to it's roof.

Are you somehow forgetting that the 6990 can OC too?...

Sorry, but you can't actually OC the 590. Not only is it limited, the OCP kicks in.

All you have to do is look at 580SLI vs 6970Xfire. 2/3/4-way performance is similar while one costs half as much.

Wrong.

I own 3 of the 590's, 2 6990's and there are 5 of each in my office...

Hell, you could go back a page in the 590 thread and see that you're wrong...Your ignorance in/surrounding this topic is not my responsibility, it's yours.

The 590 CAN be overclocked and in real world applications DOES beat the 6990's...

Both my 6990's when pushed to 900mhz are still BEATEN by the 590 in real world applications because, duh nu nu naaaa, they're not benching, they're processing.

OCP? It's even more clear you're not current on your 590 knowledge.

I don't care how the 580 performs...You started a discussion about the 590, stick to it or don't discuss it at all.

In recent benches at stock, done for the MARS II, it can be seen that in real world applications under current drivers, the 590 beats the 6990 STOCK.

In heaven/ungine etc? Hell no but, in real world apps, yes.

Now, Nvidia may be inclined to do a 595, I'm under an NDA surrounding this so, all I can say is that with the amount of "time" they now have while they figure out Kepler...You may actually see one...Not "one done right" or, "this is how it should've been"...because if you followed Nvidia at all, you'd see they still think the 590 is perfect...So, it is POSSIBLE, we might see a 595 on new arch...Who knows when but, they got plenty of time.

Of course not. It's easier to just make up nonsense on a forum without backing it up.

Yea, you might want to learn a thing or two about what happens when you increase the power draw on a card before responding.

Of course you don't. Why would you care about a more powerful setup still losing to a 6990?
