Yea, you might want to learn a thing or two about what happens when you increase the power draw on a card before responding.

Of course you don't. Why would you care about a more powerful setup still losing to a 6990?
*sigh*...This is why I don't go into the AMD threads...All of you refuse to accept the reality that AMD drivers are hindering performance...

Pc Perspective

Remember that 90% of real world apps? The 590 loses to the 6990 in Metro and either beats or is ~1% in the rest of the game tests...In benches, falls behind @15% which, ironically, is exactly what I said...By-golly!

I'm going to give you 3 more sources since, your ignorance requires a re-education.

Hot Hardware

More proof on benches (Oh, PS...The MARS II is, 2x 580's in 1 card and look, oh my, it's crushing the 6990...Ouchies)

Now, what I found interesting...Is that Tweaktown proves your entire theory of "580's losing to a 6990" invalid...

Tweaktown

Chip Hell proves you wrong AND comes with Asian chicks...This one is a MUST SEE!

Chip Hell

So let's review...You're wrong about the 580's being beaten, stock...I could care less about OC atm because an OC'd card beating a NON-OC'd card is absolutely irrelevant...That's like a track runner beating a 2 y/o in the 100yd dash...

You're also wrong about the 590 being limited by an OCP, which, if you had actually educated yourself prior to typing, would've saved you from looking stupid...IN FACT, there's even a flash out currently that allows EXTREME OC of the card to 1.03v ~ 900mhz.

590 Flash and Overclocking

Oh, here's [H]'s overclock attempts WITHOUT flashing:

HARD forums

Here's the overclocking THREAD in which, on these very forums, you're proven wrong again...

Overclock.net Overclock Challenge

As the admin of a beta office, not only do I do my homework, it's my job to know how hardware performs because, I test these products on a daily basis...Next time, don't bring a stick to a gun fight, please...

Thanks...Oh and /thread.

Again, it's not my job to feed your ignorance...It's your job to educate yourself and break the cycle which...It's evident you're not doing...So, I'm done here.

Posting reviews from 5 months ago using underclocked 6990s? Apparently you haven't been paying attention but 11.4 performance is drastically different from today's 11.8. 11.6 is where we really started to see proper drivers for Cayman. As I said, +87mv OC on the 590 is a complete joke. Cayman has no problem going from 1.149V to 1.32V. The VRMs can actually handle OCing.

Since you still haven't learned what OCP means, hopefully a chart(which you linked to and obviously didn't read) will knock some sense into you:

Try to figure out what is happening here. Hmmm, it might have something to do with extremely poor VRMs... Hmmm, I wonder...

You claimed 900Mhz 6990 loses to a 590. Even your first link which shows an undercocked 6990 @ 830Mhz beating it...

Not only do they have zero trouble beating a 590, they aren't memory bottlenecked at typical resolutions either:

There's a reason why Triple-Xfire Caymans for $750 gives similar performance to Triple-SLI Fermis for $1500. Their weaker individual GPU performance is made up for in near perfect scaling.

In case you haven't kept up on the past 8 months, but there have been NO DRIVER FAILURES WITH THIS SERIES. Christ, does it take an Nvidia user screaming it in your face before you understand?! You. Are. Wrong.

Actually if you wanted to make a good argument with this, you'd go back and see the reviews they did after they upgraded their hardware and see that 590s in SLI were exactly the same as twin 6990s and then try to come with some conclusion. Seriously, enthusiasts or not, there's something called knowledge and it goes a very long way here on OCN.
