Improve "old" rig

Thread Starter
Hey!

My rig is starting to feel a little outdated in terms off performance. I get around 60-70fps in BF:BC2 which ofc is good but as soon as I switch over to Crysis 2 its starting to be bad. Especially since I got a 120hz monitor which I recently bought. I can say that ive desided to upgrade case as I see this as solid and futuristic upgrades. A Corsair 800D

What would you guys recommend to upgrade?
I do have enough budget for a complete new rig, but as far as I know, Ivy Bridge is around the corner?

Thank you!

Try overclocking your 920 some more...your rig is still plenty fast

You're choosing to spend 600 dollars on components that will help your rig none, when you have comparable products already? Why don't you leave everything alone, and order a 580 if you are open to spending 600 dollars?

I would just get a new gpu right now. Whatever you get can of course be used in your upgrade whenever that is. How much ram do you have?

I would go with a new GPU and if you want you can overclock your CPU a bit more.

Get an AX 1200 when you reach the point of goin Tri-Sli. What's the point in getting 1 now and then only making use of the extra wattage one or two years later, when you 750W is still able to keep your rig running?

Get a 800D when yours video cards don't fit in your HAF case, you want a bigger, sleeker looking case, or going WCing. Air flow in the 932 is very good tbh.

Get a better GPU (GTX 580/570/AMD6970/6950/ 590/ 6990) for instant graphical performance boost.

OR

Get an SSD and get blown away.

The upgrades you have chosen will leave your performance exactly the same.

Gaming performance increases can be obtained by:

GPU Upgrade
Ram Upgrade
CPU Upgrade
Overclocking
