[MP1st] BF3 No One Hit Body Kills with Snipers, More Weapon Recoil, and More - Page 12

Headshots are still one shot!

Just want to make sure people still know that, the Battlefield series has always intended one shot kill are for the head and two shot else where, the only thing removed was quick-scoping, THAT should be left to shotguns.

It's more a triangle than a T tbh.

As I've said before, DICE are making sure that those who are successful recon with sniper rifles (notice I emphasized RECON players who are simply arming themselves sniper rifles) will be the good ones, and that the bad ones will have to turn into good ones to be successful.

"Is this area safe for me to capture the objective?"

*sees noone in sight for hundreds of yards*

*dies*

"I guess not?"

*respawns on other side of map*

With the two shot method, you get the ability to take a huge chunk of health from a player, therefore slowing their ability to actually function and is a form of suppression as they will have to wait for their health to regen before they move out again.

If they decide to move out before their health is high enough, one more shot and they're gone.
Being a sniper in BF2-style gameplay game (as opposed to BC2) actually requires far more patience and thus will be more 'boring' tbh. That said, I 'two-shotted' in BF2 people most of the time you simply don't have time to line up a headshot and it's far faster and more efficient to two-shot them.

Battlefield has never been about simply getting kills and the recon class is actually about reconnassance/gathering/sharing Battlefield information now.

As I said before, you have a tool that can make a person scared to move again for the next 20 seconds with a single shot. That's a pretty significant tool for holding down an area.

Long story short, think less about killing, think more about supporting.

You wont be able to in this game either unless you have the skills.

Battlefield 3 has actual suppression mechanics that A:Blur your vision when being fired at and B:Stop your health regenerating.

That way you actually get a sense of "Man, i'm actually NOT going to sit here lining up a shot while an M249 sends hundreds of rounds at my general direction and expect to be victorious", which you actually can do in other Battlefield games.

Instead, you will need to do what any good sniper would do.

Understand your position has been compromised, relocate, get revenge.

Just goes to show how the game will be weeding out the bad apples and making sure those who start off bad can only become good by following good practices.

What's to complain about?
This tbh. All the ones complaining are nub snipers really. Lot of people will switch classes anyway because it can get boring being a sniper in a BF2-que gameplay game. A good part of the time is getting to your sniping spot really.

People against such a move just encourage servers to house over 50% of its players as recon kits. If you want a realistic game, then you'll realize that every soldier does not carry a 12x scoped rifle.

This was a big issue in BC2.

Dry your eyes campers, it's not a war simulator.

Do you know how bloody easy it is to hit someone in the upper torso with a sniper rifle in these games? and your whinging you don't get the insta-kill? Give me a break, either learn to headshot or get out of the bushes and help the t e a m. One man armies lol.

I was gonna energetically complain about "no insta-kill sniper headshots" and then I actually read the article.

But then it's not a real challenge if it's one shot kill to the body

EDIT: The quickscoping could be fixed easily by making the shot go randomly in the ENTIRE screen or at least most of the screen when not scoped.

true but my point still stands

But honestly i dont care much as long as its balanced in a way that it doesnt ruin the whole sniping aspect of the gameplay. Also, if theres a Hardcore mode. yes, yes people complain that hardcore mode isnt the way the game was meant to be played, well then why did the developers put it in the game? In my mind Hardcore mode is just a different aspect tweaked a bit more for realism (IE weapons do more realistic damage, no 3D Spotting, and overall requires better (Or on some servers worse) tactics than the standard mode.
