it will probably be like in bfbc2 with little tweaking (for example shorter kill range with one bullet in the body), so i guess it will be all right

I hope there is a limit on snipers per squad/team or something. I understand the need for them, but when half the players in the game are hiding in the bushes it just sucks. I have never been able to understand how it's fun to snipe people from across the map. That really defeats the purpose of a game IMO.

Oh well, they will end up with a knife in their back anyway

One of the things I liked the most about the old Call of Duty 2 was a server option that limited weapons classes (if desired) to a certain number per team.

That is something that I find sorely lacking in BC2. Nothing more irritating than running into entire teams of medics in deathmatch, entire squads of overlapping tube spamming engineers, have the rest of your team sniping with you the only one to be moving up in conquest etc...

It would be great if the server teams could be set to even ratios for each class; ie in a 32 man server each team could only have 4 of each class maximum. No only would it ensure team balance but it would also force players to actually try the other classes.

For example I am currently not a fan of the medic or engineer classes but if forced to use them in the new game, (or whatever their new class designations are), it would make for interesting times.

Unfortunately Call of Duty 2 was the only game I ever played where I saw this feature (COD4 and WAW did not have it).

Day of defeat did it too and it was pretty good, definitely maintained balance and forced players to try other roles.

I wouldn't normally have played as machine gunner due to the high death count, but ended up loving that class.

i agree with this
but that ain't really on the topic of one shot one kill

in bfbc2 i like sniper and engineer above all so i'd like things with sniper to be like in bfbc2, and that too isn't one shot kill unless on HC or a headshot, and guys runing to plant bomb on m-com should be able to shoot somebody with sniper up close with one bullet, but that is what people abuse and go around running and do no scope kills, what's bad, but i wouldn't worry, things will be fine in bc3, there will always be something to complain about, wait and see how it works out
i'm more interested how will be anti-vehicle sniper utilized in game, for example shooting at heli, will i be able to take down a heli by shooting its rotor
check 03:20 if you don't know what i'm talking about

Snipers are inherently annoying. That is their role and job. Being able to shoot people from long distances is what they do.

When I play recon, I always rush towards objectives and spot. Then I plant C4 on tanks, etc. I mostly play assault/engineer but I am not opposed to snipers.

This is just nerfing the inherent dangers of rushing. Basically this is going to make the tactics a lot less. By taking away one perceived problem, you introduce 2-3 other issues.
