You can take down choppers in BC2 with the M95. It takes a number of hits though. BF2 and BC2 you can pop the pilot/copilot in helis with well aimed (and somewhat lucky) .50 shots.

Greatest thing in the game is having a heli pilot start text screaming about a sniper

Is this really a shocker? Just about EVERY BF game to date has started out with (somewhat) realistic bullet damages, and within a few weeks, has been patched to the point where every sniper rifle takes 2-3 shots to kill, every AR takes 4-6, and every smg/pistol takes 5-7.

I too think its a bit stupid that an anti-armor round that would literally blow a foot round chunk of flesh out of your body is only as effective as a medium range anti-personal rifle, but its nothing new to the franchise.

Game balance over realism. What's the kill time of a 1HK sniper rifle? 0 seconds. Whether you like that or not, it's far better than any AR, SMG, and LMG, it's more versatile than a shotgun, it doesn't have a long travel time like a grenade launcher, and it doesn't put the user in danger like a rocket launcher.
It has it's downsides, like if you miss, you die, and you'll always be in trouble when fighting more than 1, but when a sniper rifle is the superior CQC weapon, something's wrong. Hell, if you miss with a shotgun, a GL, or a rocket launcher you're screwed too, so the sniper is a better CQC weapon than those (and don't claim that the CG isn't a popular CQC weapon in BC2).

Why is it always the snipers that get all ticked about not getting a one hit kill. It's not like if you get hit with 1 shot from a high caliber assault rifle you will walk away from it.

Calm down, I am sure there will be servers for you guys to play point and click adventure from your little hidey holes.

I don't mind this. If you were good with a rifle in BC2, there's a good chance aiming for the head will come more naturally. Beginners will learn quickly that camping isn't the way to play the game, and will have to move up to get kills. I don't see any change in those soldiers who use Carl Gustav's and RPG7's against infantry. They annoy me more then anybody.

Can't aim? Hide in a house with an RPG and rack up some kills!

At least in BC2, you can mortar/tank/M2A2/C4/etc the house to bits. Same goes for medic LMG squads that camp in houses.

Why is everyone comparing this to Bad Company 2 it is not Bad Company 3 it is BattleField 3, start comparing it to BattleField 2 rather, sure they used the Frostbite engine so it will look similar but gameplay mechanics are brought back to how the Battlefield series worked, not the Bad Company series, so grow a pair and be assault/medic heal yourself all the way until you are standing behind that sniper who shot you and stab him in the back, why is there a problem?

I have friends who complain about this in games... "If I can't one-shot someone with a sniper rifle then the game sucks!" What they don't realize is that's the point of having hardcore and normal modes. Normal mode is less realistic but aimed for having fair gameplay. Hardcore mode is aimed for realism (one-shot kill with a .50 cal sniper) and higher risk of death. I think since snipers are usually moving the least and not poking their head out as much as other players, they should at least have to aim for the head. It's not fair that they can just sit back, camp, and not have to go out into the heart of the battle and still be able to get kills that easily. I DON'T CARE ABOUT REALISM IN A COMPETITIVE ONLINE EXPERIENCE!! I just want whatever makes the game fair and balanced throughout classes. You go into a hardcore match on BC2 and everybody is sniper with the M95 and magnum ammunition. That's not my idea of a balanced and fun online experience.
