Sniper kit will remain NERFED then...

There is no way in the green hell that a 50 caliber sniper rifle is NOT going to kill you if it hits you anywhere in the center part of the main upper body, even if you do have armor on it will most likely kill you, dead, as in one shot...

They are setting too much precedence on head-shots, when every real sniper knows you aim for the chest! If you accidentally hit the target in the head or throat, good for you, they are still most likely going down, as in dead...

I want more realism, more accuracy required, no large hit boxes on the Player, you gotta HIT what you are aiming at, random bullet patterns are ok, you can get lucky at close range with an Uzi, but let's get real, 200 yards out, it's an almost worthless weapon!

I'm tired of dying to Uzi (or Uzi like weapons) at 100-400 Yards off....

It's obvious why people choose certain kits, Engineering is probably the most deadly due to the RPG combined with super fast killing Uzi like weapons (just use red dot scope)...

I like sniper at close range, some of the rifles are mega deadly point blank! (like the VSS)

I don't mind them beeping through walls but showing you the enemies exact position on the map is stupid. If it showed your own position up too (I mean it does beep for both players) then that'd be fair...it'd be balanced.
Have you played a Battlefield game before? Bad Company atleast?
The team the deploys the devices can hear and see enemies on their mini-map.
The team that didn't deploy it can hear it beeping and knows they're being tracked.

Let's just assume that the device is connected to a radar like device each teammate carries around. It's not necessary for them to actually show the device, that's why the mini-map was created, to simulate a positional radar that's activated by sound.

So was I. A pretty legitimate one. Sniping has rules~ like any other video game, from RTSs to Fighting Games. Certain moves and abilities have to be balanced within the scope of the game so that all classes can have synergy and so the game flows naturally. Obviously "Push Mouse Button to Kill" sniper mode didn't fit within that mold.

Just like having some powerful unit obliterate a squad with a single ability didn't fit in an RTS or having Guile fire Sonic Boom's that ripped people in half didn't either~ designers have to understand what works, and doesn't work within their game.

It's not about what something can do, but what something SHOULD do, to fit a particular vision. This is why I cited Defibrillators. We can have an ENTIRE thread discussing the merits of this ability, its realism~ how it affects the game.

Example, people here are citing "I shot him in the chest, but now he just runs off and heals up~ it's unfair he should be dead."

Let's do the same with Deffibs.

"I shot him in the head! Woo! He's dead! But now he just got Defibbed and he's alive, at full health and people are spawning on him. It's unfair he should be dead."

Should we have a crusade against this element of the game, or can we just accept it as part of the game we know and love and deal with it like we do every other unbelievable aspect of the game?

How about we talk about rocketing a helicopter just to see the pilot and copilot jump out and parachute away? Choppers don't even have ejection seats! It's unrealistic! I hate it! So unfair!

It's Battlefield~ it's there, it's fun~ it's absolutely absurd, but that's the game you're playing.

Let's make an entire 30+ page thread though to whine about it, discuss it~ and suggest further tweaks outside of the scope that is obviously the developer's vision. The only one that really matters~ the one that has you talking to me in the first place because the game is THAT good.

Edit: Just saw your edit, my bad~ but I'm not deleting my dissertation. lol

Good post. Most people complain about issues like this because they can no longer troll the game. There's always a group of people that try to find the "noob combo" so they can compete. One kill sniping would take an average player, and make them look like a superstar. Now they have to play classes they suck at, therefore not interested.

Military Simulator = Realism/Training for real world combat
BF3 Game = Fiction/Entertainment/Fun

How about no respawns(because you're dead) and one shot kills, and see how fun BF3 would be.

people stop crying. Snipers would be OP if they could 1 hit kill. And get real, sniping in real life is 10x harder than in a video game. If youre even half good landing headshots should be no problem for all you leet skeet snipers.

I think the only reason people have an issue with the nonlethal body hits, but not stuff like Defibs is because they get a kill on their scoresheet with the latter but not the former. Which to me exposes the true character of the people who are upset over this.

I don't think any real, hardcore gamer has had an issue with Headshots being the domain of instant kills in games. I mean, these hardcore players~ the ones that have been around... have been dealing with this reality since the days of Quake 3/Unreal Tournament.

Those who argue about this~ honestly, and make these casual vs hardcore arguments just flag to me that they aren't hardcore at all. Hell the guy who brought it up a few pages ago even said he only plays every so often, yet has the audacity to bring up the topic.

I just don't really know what to say anymore~ people just need to find an element about the game they like and stick to it. It's not like this is their only option in a game as versatile as BF3.
