Indeed this is all a moot point in HC, its the only way to play, once you go Hard Core there is not returning to normal play... it just pisses you off!

Honestly, I don't see why there has to be hardcore/regular... It's supposed to be a game, having basically two different difficulty settings is bad for gameplay experience and learning as you'll constantly have to remember/relearn everything between them. I'll try both modes and stick to the one I like most...

My Little Pony isn't enough for me~ I'm a fan of the game of this topic. You might have heard of it~ it's called "Battlefield". A game you apparently do not like.

It's ok that you do not like it~ that's your perogative. Just don't complain that Mario doesn't have a spin dash and that Sonic can't shoot fireballs. You want another game than the one you're playing, and sorry~ nobody is going to respect that.

Move on.
I'm am moving on, soon...

First of all Desert Combat which is a mod from BF1942 is correct, but it doesn't change and gameplay settings part from adding helicopters and changing models and textures and such.
Desert Combat is more Battlefield than BFBC and BF3 just because it's actually closer to 1942 and also was the reason BF2 was such a success and you can thank Traumatic Studios for that.

He wants another game.

Not Battlefield, not what's being provided. I hardly consider someone who dislikes so many aspects of a game to want 'tweaks'. He wants another game within the engine of Battlefield~ maybe in the future someone will do that, but for now~ most of us are pretty happy with playing Battlefield 3 as is.

Some of us are fine with parachutes coming out of our asses when we jump off buildings.

Some of us are totally cool with repairing Blackhawks from the inside from 10% to 100% with a monkey wrench.

Some of us are completely cool with the fun, dynamic and exciting synergy that comes from this game that mixes intense military combat with the video game like elements that make this series what it is.

I am not outside my justified opinion here to say that if you don't like Battlefield, if you REALLY don't like it~ then you should move on and play something else. This isn't critiquing~ you're honestly flaming the very core essences of the game you so vehemently claim to enjoy.

This isn't "casual" vs "hardcore" like he claims it to be~ this is "Battlefield fan" vs "Someone who wishes this game wasn't so goddamn Battlefield-like~ fan".
Again, you overreact on what I desire from Battlefield.
Repairing with a wrench isn't the same a dumbing down the gameplay so that snipers don't 1-hit-kill from a torso shot (and I'd like to see a person that gets shot in the torso with a Barret and still running along with enough health to run along).
Medics: If a soldier is revived, then the person shooting him in the first place should loose a kill score, there balance is complete.
Snipers should also run with MP5,HK416 or similar, NOT a freaking machine gun.
Assault on the other hand should have the option to be using machine gun or assault rifle.
There are quite few weapon classes to be honest.

Assault Rifle: About 90 rounds (30 in the magazine)

The average person can kill about 2 enemies with one clip from an Assault rifle before reloading, if you're close enough, maybe 3. Lets take the average of 2 frags per magazine. So that would be 6 kills until they need an ammo kit to replenish their rounds.

If the Sniper had one shot body kills, 25 rounds can be 25 kills with discipline and a steady hand. But lets take half of that number rounded down, which is 12.

6 Kills per player using the Assault Class
12 Kills per player using the Sniper Class

The sniper class would have more than double the amount of kills than the Assault Class starting the game with their respective ammo amounts, that yields unbalanced gameplay. Now lets introduce two shot body kills with the Sniper Class. Since double the amount of rounds needs to be used, 12 rounds will now yield 6 kills.

6 Kills per player using Assault Class
6 Kills per player using Sniper Class

The game is now balanced.
Spray and pray wastes bullets. Semi-auto sniper rifle users waste ammo at first as well.

BF1942 had a better way of managing ammo TBH.
If you shoot away half your clip or mag and then reload you just lost the rest of the ammo in that clip (not stacking ammo).
Best would be if you could switch to "Manage ammunition" just like you switch from primary firearm to secondary.

The worst thing about the newer Battlefield games are the dedicated melee that is one hit kill.
If anything, nerf that POS.

You need backup to run into a flag post on open maps, that's where the snipers and medics come in to back you up if it doesn't go your way.

I know this has already been said many times...

Video games are not real. Ok done. They have some "real" aspects and some unreal aspects.

If you want 1 shot kills, play hardcore. If you don't want 1 shot kills, play normal.

This thread is filled with just a bunch of complaining. *sigh*

Stay out of the uniform if you don't expect to die for your country. I've lost two of my closest friends in Iraq. One was a fueler. The other was a satellite repair technician. You don't salute this flag if you don't intend to die for it. This isn't a video game.

...and anyone who boasts about murdering 100+ people in war is full of crap.
