You say one thing, when you mean the other. I cited the Repairing with a Wrench because IT IS THE SAME THING. It's not realistic~ then your only cited reason for wanting a one hit torso kill, is REALISM.

Are you reading what you're typing? Like, objectively? Take a deep breath and read your own stuff. Please~ you're not dense dude, I've seen you write elsewhere. I said you're smarter than this a few pages ago, but now you're making me want to take it back. :/

Your only source for wanting this feature has to go beyond realism, and you have to give a legitimate reason within the scope of game balance and design if you want anyone, especially Dice to take you seriously.

You would get laughed at in a game design meeting~ like, every single dev in there would roll their eyes if you said this stuff to them without any real reason why it should work this way in THIS game. Not any other game. This one.

I would love for Ryu's fireball to light my opponent on fire and kill him in Street Fighter IV, but it's not going to happen for a reason.

BF1942 had a better way of managing ammo TBH.
If you shoot away half your clip or mag and then reload you just lost the rest of the ammo in that clip (not stacking ammo).
Best would be if you could switch to "Manage ammunition" just like you switch from primary firearm to secondary.

The worst thing about the newer Battlefield games are the dedicated melee that is one hit kill.
If anything, nerf that POS.
My post wasn't about ammo management, each player can do that on their own. BF3 is a sequel to BF2, BF1942 etc are expansions and shouldn't be compared to the original BF2 game. I pointed out the average kill per class. One class shouldn't be able to kill twice any many enemies as another because of one shot kills. The game would be unbalanced.

BF3 isn't a war sim and never was meant to be. IRL you also don't have people with unlimited ammo packs nor are you able to sit on a health box to heal up or instantly be revived by paddles.

This is great news and will get rid of a lot of campers.
LOL. So funny to see all the people complaining about snipers, when in reality it's just because their reaction time is as good as my grandma's. Learn to play. I play as a sniper, and even if i'm not sniping i tend to quite easily get the kills on the snipers who shoot me. It's called learn to aim and react faster. Kind of the whole point of an FPS. I thought BF3 would be more competitive, but i guess they are just becoming more and more noob friendly, for people who can't aim or react for ****.

Whatever you say camper...you seriously think one-hit kill weapons make games more competitive? It invites kids to the class, nothing more.

Battlefield 2 didn't have any one hit kill sniper rifles.

Battlefield 2142 didn't have any one hit kill sniper rifles.

Battlefield 3 will not have any one hit kill sniper rifles.

Funny enough, the only game that did, was BC2.....a game was literally a noobified/consolified version of Battlefield where much of the strategy and teamwork needed in a Battlefield game was removed.

The founding Battleifled series has never given the player a "click to kill" rifle because DICE always had the idea in mind that TEAMWORK would be what handed a player victory.

e.g. you take 90% of a guys health away in one shot and I finish him off easy with my automatic. Or I chip away at a guys health (a few rounds brings him down to 50%) and you finish him off with a single shot.

Like I have said before, your ability to find the one hit kills, depends on your ability to work as a team (as well as your actual skill with the sniper rifles).

What I do is stalk the target. The second he stops, go for the head. Will teach people you can't crouch in the middle of Heavy Metal and expect a clear shot without repercussion.

Well it depends...

Everyone keeps saying one mile shot.

I'm a designated marksman in the army, and a competition shooter with precision rifles.

I can tell you making a 1700 yard plus shot with anything like a .308 is going to be nearly impossible. Sure if you hit them, they'll bleed out fast, but at that distance, your accuracy will be non existent.

Now go get a .30-06 with a heavy bullet, a .300wm, or a nice accurate .260 or .284 and you might actually make the shot. But a mile one kill shot? I'm not so sure.

As I have stated before, Bad Company 2 sniper rifles are only 1 shot kill to the body at close range. So it's not really noob friendly. You actually have to be fairly close to your target to 1 shot them. At long range, where most snipers hang out, they are not 1 shot to the body kill.

I suppose this nonsense is out of the Hardcore mode..

Sniper is one shoot kill, end of the story

Doesn't change the fact that as long as you're using your sniper rifle at the range it was designed to be used for (in terms of both gameplay and balance), you'll have no problems.

Use your long range rifle for ranged shooting and your secondary for anything else.
