A good sniper actually does help the team, killing an enemy who's in route, and not near the objective, frustrates/hampers that player far more than if they were killed near an objective.
When you kill a player at an objective, they'll usually follow the exact path back to the object and usually with success, it's beneficial to kill them before they've had a chance to determine the best/safest path to the objective.
What I would REALLY like to see is a REAL AA on each base to I don't get in a server with 2 choppers lighting up the other teams base.
/\\ This. Sniping is my preferred style, and I know how to work with a team effectively. To me this news means that I have a lot to learn when I finally get the game. I've never dealt with realistic bullet physics in a MP game before, and it should be interesting to learn and find my favorite sniper rifle. The kill zone into the chest is where it will matter, If I hit a player in the heart w/ no armor, one-shot kill it should be, or 1 inch below the neck, anywhere else and i can understand 2-3 shots... But I do not think the hit zones are going to be detailed enough for that, head-shots it is
. I agree with others though, bolt-action should be 1 hit.
I'm surprised you guys are griping about campers- because frankly, they are my favorite type of player. I purposely follow and stick every camper I can find. There's nothing more rewarding than unicorn-ing a player who's been in the same place for way too long
. After a few deaths, they switch to another class, and the playing field gets another participant.
Now the interesting part will will come with the carbines, and how they handle bullet physics. Don't mess with me and precision weapons
(for those campers I can't stick).
