Ok well in that case why don't we just remove the bullet drop and make it CODlike sniping? This is the reason why BC2 sniping was so good because when you factor all of these things, it makes a much more satisfying and enjoying experience when you get that long shot kill. Do you really think I am going to want to hit someone again at 700ft if I already blew a bullet in his chest prior?

Isn't the sniper motto "One shot, one kill"? I don't get how a sniper that needs more then one bullet to kill someone is at all effective or realistic. If you wanna whine and cry about not being able to kill some stationary target, I feel sorry for you. I mean 30 automatic bullets vs a mild distance and one shot (wait about 3 seconds) second shot is just bull****.

Hardcore mode better be one shot on kill. BF2 sucked for that, M95 would do like 95% damage and then someone would shoot a pistol round at the guy and get your kill.

Battlefield is about more than killing, just as recon is more than just long range shooting.

If you're that bothered, take out your laser targeter and wait for a jet to ATG missile their backsides.

Or, you could just shoot them in the head. If you're good enough ¬_¬

As long as bullet drop, acts of god and wind take place in sniping over 100m, I will be pleased.

.50 should kill in one shot if it's upper body, and at over, say 200m, to keep people from hoping around with it. Smaller rifles should be 2-3. If you can get off two body shots at a moving target at over 100m, you are doing something right.

This is so lame though. I think the most efficient ways of dealing with too many snipers is just to put a cap on the number of snipers permitted at once; you don't have to water down the sniper class. Any weapon does one shot one kill in the head so you might as well scope a G3 and get 20 shots at the guy's head if sniper rifles have no advantage over automatic weapons.
Skill is no argument, the fact that those rifles are bolt action means that while you're cocking the guy can run to cover, heal himself, kill you or get killed by someone else. I'm sorry to say but there is far less skill when spraying an ennemy with an M249 than taking one precise shot.
.50 shot from a sniper rifle kills anywhere it hits in real life, that's why it's called and anti-material caliber.

The best solution to all this crying though, is to get better aim. Doesn't even need a patch or anything~ just need to practice.

Seriously, you get the capacity to make long range shots most ARs can only dream of doing. You're not even a part of the damn fight half the time. You're sitting somewhere, FAR from the objective doing absolutely nothing for your team at all~ you have the opportunity to take someone out without them even being able to detect your presence.

You can silence your freaking rifles now too~ and still you just refuse to see any other purpose for this role if it can't just be "CLICK HERE TO KILL ENEMY"?

I don't mind, as long as headshots are 1 hit, then thats fine.

For me, balance > realism. Too much realism makes things boring. In BC2 teams work better with less snipers, lets be honest. All that are needed are 1-2 snipers to spot, lay down mortars as appropriate and get a few choice targets.

This way, quickscoping is nerfed (nice), and hardscoping is much harder as you have to aim for the head. A good skill barrier for a good sniper.

I don't know why everyone hates quick scoping. It's not like it's the easiest thing to do anyway. If they keep weakening sniper rifles in first person shooters they might as well just remove them.
