If this were the case, I could agree and be happy with a one shot center mass kill. As it is not, I see nothing wrong with it taking two. We all know this isn't a sim. Jets are too slow. Defibs revive dead soldiers. Health packs heal super quickly, etc. Learn to adapt, get better (make those HS), or don't play. Plus hardcore mode will most definitely be one shot

Besides, the "sniper" class has not existed in Battlefield since BF2 and has been called "recon" ever since.

Recon will now have mini UAVs and laser targeting devices for missiles to lock onto, thereby allowing them to call in air strikes from airborne players with ATG missiles......or with the GAU-8 cannon of an A-10 *drools*.

You can also completely remove scopes from long range rifles and use their iron sights and still be successful in close quarters.

If you want a one hit kill weapon up close, use a shotgun.


IMO, DICE would like the recon class to play a much more involved role in terms of team and squad play. Sniper is just one avenue the recon can take.

You just have to be good at it to do it now if you'd like to specialise in that area.

Skill is no argument, the fact that those rifles are bolt action means that while you're cocking the guy can run to cover, heal himself, kill you or get killed by someone else. I'm sorry to say but there is far less skill when spraying an ennemy with an M249 than taking one precise shot.
.50 shot from a sniper rifle kills anywhere it hits in real life, that's why it's called and anti-material caliber.
The problem is that its not a dedicated sniper class, it's a support class so the cap may be too low for people who use it properly but too high for people who just camp.

I think it should be head, neck, and heart along with the upper chest where the heart is. It is realistic, without breaking the game IMO.

I second this, surviving a shot to the heart or the sternum is very, very unlikely, even from smaller caliber rounds. However, if that were to be implemented into the game people would want it done to assault rifles, and eventually all weapons.

If I want to play as a sniper I'll just go to a hardcore server.

It should be based on the weapon, size of the round and the location your player takes the hit....

I love how in these games you can take six hits, hide behind a corner, slap some neosporin and a band aid on it and your ready to go again.

I prefer how in Arma 2 if you take a heavy hit (as in one or two bullets to the chest) you can only crawl, not stand.
