Getting a new laptop with i3 intel

Thread Starter
Hey! Ive been looking at a new laptop. Its a Packard Bell TS11-HR-811NC.
I'm gonna use it for studying, but also for friend visiting, (playing LAN games and stuff). Its got 6GB DDR3 RAM, 750GB Harddisk, a nVIDIA Geforce GT 540M, and an i3-2310 dual core processor, clocked at 2.1GHz. Its fairly cheap, at 4500 Danish kronors, 527 british pounds. I was just wondering if 750GB was is to much? And what games could can i run? And is it worth the money? Also, what is the difference between i3, and i5 processors, anything great, or nothing to notice? Should i get a computer with 500GB Harddisk, and i5 instead (if anything like that excists) or what?

storage is totally subjective, if you don't think you'll use the 750GB, put that $ towards an i5. Turbo boost can really help out with these mobile sandy bridges, so the i5 is a worthy investment. It doesn't seem like a bad deal at all, especially considering it's got a GT540. That's the same graphics card as the M11x R3, so if you're looking for something to compare it to, check out benches for that system. With a 35w CPU like the 2520m you'll be about 1.5x faster in CPU bottlenecked situations. Hope this helps

Edit: Here's some M11x R3 benchmarks to give you a frame of reference for the GT540m:
