GTX 580 VRM temperatures.

Thread Starter
So i never touched the card when i had reference cooler on it. Now i for fun touched the area where VRM´s are (Finger to the baseplate) and it was pretty hot :/ Im using Alpenföhn Peter + Stock Baseplate for VRM/Mem cooling. My GPU temps are so nice (around 60c at full load) , but im a bit worried about VRM temperatures (since cant measure them). Card is rock solid tho, i know that VRM can be so hot (in my HD 4850, they were like over 100c all the time )

Can someone touch the card while gaming who has it (reference or some aftermarket cooler model), especially the baseplate on the side at the VRMs and say how hot it feels . No kinky stuff involved in this test!

Here is pic, where VRMs are located.

Thanks for advance

VRMs get very hot with fermi. As hot as the GPU, or even more.

As long as you have heatsink on the VRMs, and airflow. Supposed to be good.

What you have in the red box is not the vrm's, the vrm's are the small black boxes to the left of the red box . . .

And when I overclock my 570, they get way too hot to touch so i have a fan directed at them . . .
