Honestly, who likes paying for ANYTHING? If it's worth it to you, buy the DLC. If it's not, don't. No one is forcing me to buy ANYTHING. It goes for ANYTHING in life. Is it worth it to you? Buy it. Not worth it? Don't. Sure, if we could all get things for free, who wouldn't? Life's not fair, boohoo.
And no, DLC, hasn't always ALL been free with ALL shooters like MW and BF. Pretty sure that Battlefield 2's expansion packs cost money $15-20 each I believe, and so did 2142's Northern Strike expansion, etc. DLC that adds a good amount of content (Battlefield's expansion packs were always vast, and included new maps, weapons, vehicles, gadgets, etc. and were well worth it; Bad Company's Vietnam expansion was also worth it; same game, sure, but it was more guns, a completely different atmosphere with new maps, music, voiceovers, vehicles, etc. On the other hand, each CoD map pack in my opinion has a been a total ripoff, and guess what? I didn't buy them and I went on living my life).
Just because a developer/publisher dishes out free DLC doesn't mean they're going to give ALL future content out for free - a business is still a business, and most people understand that development time/costs costs, well, money.
Bottom line, if the DLC is worth it to you at the price it's released at, buy it. If it's not, don't. It's a pretty simple concept, and no one's forcing you to buy DLC. Again, lose the sense of entitlement.Edited by jcde7ago - 8/22/11 at 7:27pm
