I'll get it once I know I'll get acceptable performance with at least medium settings.

In my place over here there are still people that want MW3. Gamestop is even going to throw the midnight party they always do when a new COD comes out. But it seems that most of the people who buy COD now are the casual gamers that think they're so hardcore and they love military stuff even though the wouldn't step on a real life battlefield for $1,000,000.

My younger brother was going to get MW3 for his PS3, but ever since I showed him that BF3 video that's like twelve minutes long he decided he was going to get BF3.

Let's see how everything goes when the games are actually released.

One thing I haven't really looked into, but I'm going to throw it in here just for kicks:

I feel that more people are returning their copies of MW3 because they've been saturated with Call of Duty titles. While the quality is still good, it diminishes the overall value among all the CoD games. Consumers are well aware that a new CoD comes out near the end of every single year and then they sprinkle DLC through the next year.

What I'm going to do next is list out every CoD or BF release and I'm pretty much going to think as we go.

The rules are:
1. All major (PC, PS3, X360) releases will be recorded, with seperate results for free/not free releases
2. Expansion packs are treated as DLC
3. DLC counts as a release if it once cost money to obtain it (e.g. CoD4's Variety Map Pack which costs money but is free in GoTY)
4. For the purposes of this comparison, portable gaming releases will not count (in CoD's favor but only slightly)

Call of Duty:
---
2003: Call of Duty
2004: Call of Duty: United Offensive, Call of Duty: Finest Hour
2005: Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
2006: Call of Duty 3 [+ Valor Map Pack, Bravo Map Pack]
2007: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare [+ Variety Map Pack] (DS release of same name, not recorded), Call of Duty: Roads to Victory (PSP release, not recorded)
2008: Call of Duty: World at War [+ Map Pack 1, Map Pack 2, Map Pack 3] (DS release of same name, not recorded), Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts
2009: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 [+ Stimulus Package, Resurgence Package], Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized (DS release, not recorded)
2010: Call of Duty: Black Ops [+ First Strike, Escalation, Annihilation, Rezurrection]
= 11 major releases, of which 0 are free
= 12 DLC releases

Battlefield:
---
(Note: Codename Eagle, which is a predecessor to Battlefield, is not a Battlefield game. In fairness, I didn't list Quake as Call of Duty's predecessor)

2002: Battlefield 1942
2003: [Expansion packs for BF1942, including: The Road to Rome, Secret Weapons of World War II]
2004: Battlefield Vietnam
2005: Battlefield 2 [+ Special Forces Expansion Pack], Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
2006: [Booster packs for BF2, including: Euro Force, Armored Fury], Battlefield 2142
2007: [Booster pack for BF2142, including: Northern Strike]
2008: Battlefield: Bad Company
2009: Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield 1943
2010: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 [+ BC2: Vietnam Expansion Pack], Battlefield Online
2011: Battlefield: Play4Free
= 11 major releases, of which 3 are free
= 7 DLC releases

So what does it mean? Not much to me, really.

Well hey, when's the last time you've seen a Battlefield commercial on TV? I've only seen commercials for Bad Company, Bad Company 2, and once for Battlefield 3. That's not a lot of commercials to get saturated on. However, I've seen every single Call of Duty commercial since 2004 when Call of Duty: Finest Hour came out with that silly first-person CGI.

I'm running out of time but honestly my reasons for not getting MW3 this year is this:

1. I've already seen New York get messed up (Crysis 2, Prototype, inFAMOUS)
2. I know the engine they're using can't get any better than 8v8
3. It just feels like I've done all of this before, twice, maybe three times before. Why I feel that way, I don't know, but I'm sure others feel the same way.

It's not about the new or old graphic engine for MW3. The game story does seem to be boring and MP is like an arcade style to me.

it would be the same engine as MW2 , since the infinitryward drama and them splitting up they just build a game with what was left , so MW3 will prob just be MW2.5

From the looks of it could this be the beginning of the end for cod, the turning point in which another franchise takes over? Like what started to happen to moh when cod was first released.
